As much as i am 100% a thorough Silco sympathizer i do think its still worth saying that he wasn’t a good father

Like yes he did absolutely care for and love Jinx and he did what he thought was best for her (note: what HE thought was best, not what was actually right or healthy) regarding the circumstances.

However, he still was a shitty ass dad and was not actually a good, healthy, or decent father figure to her. And I actually don’t think that is super debatable. the words “Silco loved and cared for Jinx like his own daughter” can and should coexist with “Silco and Jinx’s relationship is fundamentally unhealthy and just the fact that Silco cares for Jinx does not magically make up for all the shit he pushed on to her, even if it was only an attempt to help her”

#AGAIN. saying this as a Silco fan #I was in the mf trenches defending him in 2022 #I just feeeel like. with the extra young Silco scenes and the good au universe in the 2nd season #ppl are now starting to mischaracterize him in the opposite direction #like no babe let him have his warcrimes and unhealthy coping mechanisms (revenge) he worked hard on those #he is not some innocent poor little meow meow that grown ass man has cut throats #and again just because he took powder in and raised her and cared for her does not mean he did it WELL #Silco is already a broken character by the time he’s introduced to powder ofc he’s not gonna be a good influence on her #and that’s a good thing narratively speaking!!! it creates complexity and nuance and TENSION #which makes characters much more interesting and the story much more intense imo #anyways #that’s my thoughts. you can yell at me abt it later I wrote this when I was sleep deprived #arcane #silco #jinx
